Satin Pothos Care

Watering
Always water your plants well, but make sure to let the top inch or two dry out before watering again. In winter, reduce how much you water your plants so that the soil can get up to 50% dry.
Lighting
The Satin Pothos plant needs medium to bright, indirect light. However, if it is not possible to provide this type of light, the plant can also tolerate low light. Just be careful when watering and don't expect the plant to grow very much.
Humidity
This tropical epiphyte will love a boost in humidity.
Temperature
Satin Pothos enjoy the warm temperatures of the tropics. They prefer it to be between 65-85°F. Be sure to avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes though, as they can cause the Satin Pothos to decline or even die back.
Toxicity
Satin Pothos is mildly toxic to pets and humans. If ingested, it will cause irritation to the mouth and stomach, and may also result in vomiting.
Propagation
To propagate a Satin Pothos, you will need a piece of stem with a node or aerial root. This is easy to see because it is a brown knob or full on wiggly root sticking out along the green stem. Try to cut just below this node and remove the lower leaves to ensure a clear stem before rooting. This cutting will grow roots directly in water and in just a few weeks! Once the roots are a couple inches long, you can pot up as you would with any plant.
