With its compact, directional design, the Aspect™ Gen 2 lets you highlight plants without sacrificing performance or aesthetic.

How long should LED grow lights stay on each day?

The daily runtime of your grow light depends on the type of plant and how much natural light it’s getting. As a general rule for the Aspect™ Gen 2:Low to Medium-Light Plants:Run the light for 10–12 hours per day. These plants don’t need intense light but still benefit from a steady, daily boost.Medium to High-Light Plants:Keep the Aspect™ Gen 2 on for 12–14 hours per day. This ensures they get enough energy for active growth, especially in darker rooms or during winter months.Flowering Plants:Follow a 12 hours on / 12 hours off cycle to mimic natural light patterns. This encourages blooming and supports photoperiod-sensitive species.Use the included timer to automate your light cycle and avoid overexposure or missed days. A tiny powerhouse

"I’ve bought a few grow lights that weren’t cheap but didn’t change the growing pattern of my plants. On a whim I decided to invest in this light. I couldn’t have made a better choice. The light is stylish, small, and outputs a beautiful warm glow of useable light. This light even at its finish is better than some standing lights. The ability to change the brightness in a sleek wall or ceiling lamp is common but doesn’t look and feel as good as this. Give it a shot, I think you’ll be like me and end up purchasing the standing floor lamp, another of these, etc. The customer service is quick and personable with live, actual humans answering any questions you might have. They’ve earned a lifetime customer in me, best of luck with your planting."

Such good lights

"I have 9 of these grow lights now and will only buy them when I need a suspended light source. The lights are just so simple and elegant and the light is warm and clean. I have both black and white and they are all so good!"

— Faithe (5/5)

Beautiful grow light

"This light is sleek and modern looking, but is also so bright without overpowering a room. I love that it's dimmable and adjustable with however you hang it (I went with the stand). Hoping to use this for years to come."

— Kristy (5/5)

The Best and the Brightest

"This light puts off the most inviting and warm atmosphere for any space. I’ve been massively impressed with the light cast and how inviting it is in my space. The plants love it and it impresses anyone who sees it. Don’t hesitate, it’s worth the cost"

Aspect Grow Light

"I am thoroughly enjoying the grow lights from Soltech. My plants genuinely look happier. I have some purple wandering dudes that are turning more and more green because they are getting adequate light now! Also, these products are all quite heavy duty and solid, which I greatly appreciate. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the wall mount I bought from Soltech was missing a "biscuit" wood peg to secure the light's cord."

— Josie K. (4/5)

"I love that the cord is long enough! I can place this light on my 11 ft ceiling and still have room to adjust its height, or my normal kitchen ceiling which is quite shorter! My plants absolutely adore Soltech lights!! I will always purchase from them!!"

— Ashley (5/5)

The Gen2 growlight is amazing

"I was buying grow lights every year for most of my 50+ houseplants. My son told me about Soltech, and said I should stop spending money on the low quality growlights I continued to buy every few quarters. Initially I was surprised at how expensive they were, but I was impressed with all the reviews. When my son ordered some for his growing houseplant collection, I saw how nice they looked and was super impressed with how the two he bought worked for several of his plants. I ordered two for myself, along with one of the stands. I have been using one for my Elephant Ear Alocasia and can't believe how two of his oldest leaves that would normally yellow and fall off, have remained mostly green. Normally his old leaves will yellow and fall off within 48-72 hours. His two oldest leaves are still holding strong and it's been over a week. Additionally, he's grown a new leaf. So my Elephant Ear Alocasia that was unable to grow more than three leaves at one time currently has four large leaves, and the two oldest leaves are still working to push better growth. The plants that are near him are also benefitting from the Gen 2 growlight. I have a low rider Alocasia at his base along with a silver satin pothos. Both of them are thriving as well. The Soltech lights are worth every penny they are charging. I will be saving to order more for my other houseplants that need more light, and the stands. I wish I would have known about Soltech earlier so I wouldn't have wasted so much money in the past on the low quality growlights I was buying several times a year."

— Lorna P. (5/5)

High quality light for larger plants

"This light is a great product for larger plants or for lighting larger areas. It is made of very high quality materials and comes with easy to use mounting and cable management hardware for hanging it from a ceiling. This works well in corners where more light is needed for your favorite plants."

Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions ⁉️

Answers to the most common questions about the Aspect™ Gen 2 Growlight

While we appreciate interest in the Aspect Gen 2, we do not offer a direct exchange program for Aspect Gen 1 lights.

These are distinct product lines with differences in components, engineering, and manufacturing. We're confident you'll find the Gen 2's differences worth the upgrade and will pair well within any new or existing set-ups.

The Aspect™ Gen 2 is a complete evolution of our best-selling pendant-style LED grow light. While the original Aspect came in two sizes (Small and Large), Gen 2 consolidates those into one smart, compact, and powerful unit. It delivers over 110% more plant-usable light than the original Small Aspect and 19% more than the Large Aspect, with improved PPF efficiency (better light for less power).

The Gen 2 is also dimmable out of the box, allowing you to adjust light intensity without external controls—a highly requested feature. It uses less energy (36W) than the previous Large model (40W), while offering a more compact and lightweight design. The fabric cord is now 18 feet long, giving you more flexibility in placement. The included installation kit has been upgraded for faster, cleaner setup.

Best of all, the Gen 2 maintains everything people loved about the original: warm-white full-spectrum light (3000K), high CRI of 98, a 60° beam angle, and our trusted 5-year warranty. It's built for plant parents who want beauty, performance, and longevity in one modern pendant light.

Hanging the Aspect™ Gen 2 is simple, stylish, and secure—everything you need is in the box. Follow these steps for proper installation:

Choose a spot where your plant will thrive and the light can shine unobstructed—ideally above the plant or angled toward it.
On average, each foot of distance between the light and your plant covers a 1:1 area. For example, 3 feet of hanging height = 3 ft x 3 ft light spread.
The Aspect™ Gen 2 includes 3 Fairleads for neat cord management (including 3 corner pieces so cords can run down corners), and a Swag Hook for stylish wall-to-ceiling placement.
Pre-drill holes if needed and install the ceiling hooks or Swag Hook. Hang the light and run the cord along your desired path using the Fairleads.
With the built-in dimmer, you can now fine-tune the intensity of the light to match your plant's stage and preferences.
Plug the light into the included outlet timer and set your desired on/off schedule. This takes the guesswork out of daily plant care.
Turn the light on, check beam coverage, and monitor your plant's response over time. Adjust the height or dimmer as needed.

The lightweight, compact body of the Gen 2 makes hanging easier than ever. Plus, the sleek aesthetic blends beautifully into any space, from living rooms to kitchens and offices.

Getting the right distance between your grow light and your plants is essential for healthy growth. The Aspect™ Gen 2 provides a focused, powerful beam, so proper hanging height ensures your plants receive the ideal intensity for their light needs.

Bright, Direct Light (12in – 24in)

Best for full sun or high-light plants like succulents, citrus trees, and aloe vera. This range delivers the strongest light intensity for growth-hungry species.

Bright, Indirect Light (24in – 36in)

Ideal for high-light indoor plants such as fiddle leaf figs, rubber plants, and crotons. Provides strong yet slightly diffused light to support structured, upright growth.

Moderate Indirect Light (36in –48in)

Perfect for mid-light plants like monsteras, peace lilies, and spider plants. Balances spread and intensity to prevent legginess and maintain vibrant foliage.

Low Light Tolerant (48in – 72in)

Designed for resilient, low-light species like snake plants, ZZ plants, and pothos. Offers soft, ambient light that mimics shaded or north-facing window conditions.

As a general rule, the higher the hanging height, the wider the light spread and the lower the intensity. With Gen 2’s built-in dimmer, you can fine-tune brightness for plant health and room ambiance—no need to constantly reposition.

Not always! While placing grow lights directly above plants gives the most even and intense light coverage, the Aspect™ Gen 2 is designed with a focused 60° beam angle, which allows for flexible placement and creative styling.

This means you can:

Mount at an angle to spotlight a plant in a corner
Hang off-center while still maintaining excellent light exposure
Illuminate multiple plants in a grouped arrangement

For the most balanced growth, ensure your plant receives enough PPFD across its canopy. If you notice leaning or uneven growth, you can rotate the plant or adjust the light's angle. With its compact, directional design, the Aspect™ Gen 2 lets you highlight plants without sacrificing performance or aesthetic.

The daily runtime of your grow light depends on the type of plant and how much natural light it’s getting. As a general rule for the Aspect™ Gen 2:

Low to Medium-Light Plants:

Run the light for 10–12 hours per day. These plants don’t need intense light but still benefit from a steady, daily boost.

Medium to High-Light Plants:

Keep the Aspect™ Gen 2 on for 12–14 hours per day. This ensures they get enough energy for active growth, especially in darker rooms or during winter months.

Flowering Plants:

Follow a 12 hours on / 12 hours off cycle to mimic natural light patterns. This encourages blooming and supports photoperiod-sensitive species.

Use the included timer to automate your light cycle and avoid overexposure or missed days. For most homes, we recommend syncing the light to your waking hours, creating a routine that aligns with your environment and your plant’s rhythm.

The length of the Aspect Gen 2's cord is 18ft.
