The recommended hanging height for the Vita Grow Light depends on the lighting fixture and the lighting requirements for your specific plant(s). The Narrow (36º) Beam Angle is great for plants farther than 3ft from the light (e.g. recessed can lighting, pendant style lighting applications). The Wide (60º) Beam Angle is great for plants closer than 3ft away from the light (e.g. lamp fixtures & desktop lighting applications).

Great kit!

"Ordered for my child’s nursery to go above an aquarium—to provide light for emersed plants. The ability to customize is fantastic and it’s perfect for her room’s decor. It is a double-edged sword though. I ended up not liking the shade I purchased and you cannot exchange one part. No stars taken off for this since it makes total sense to me (I was prepared for this possibility beforehand) but just wanted to mention so others would be aware. Anyway, I have several Vitas already (including another one over another fish tank) with great results so I’m excited to get this Vita kit up and see what I can grow/create to beautify the nursery!"

Beautiful lampshade, but poorly designed wall mount

"The lampshade is gorgeous, the light works extremely well, my plants are very happy. That being said, the wallmount itself is shockingly poorly designed. It looks good, but you can only set the adjustable arm once, then it's stuck like that due to you not being able to remove the dowel, which can he frustrating, especially when you are trying to figure out the right angle upon first set up. The super simple work around, would be there to be a hole on the other side, where you can simply push a pin or nail through to remove the locked in dowel. I did this by drilling small holes myself, and trying the 3 different angles until I found the one that worked best. Such a simple solution, I'm shocked the designers missed that. For the price of the entire kit, I'd expect a better design. But like I said, it looks gorgeous once all is said and done."
