The recommended hanging height for the Vita Grow Light depends on the lighting fixture and the lighting requirements for your specific plant(s). The Narrow (36º) Beam Angle is great for plants farther than 3ft from the light (e.g. recessed can lighting, pendant style lighting applications). The Wide (60º) Beam Angle is great for plants closer than 3ft away from the light (e.g. lamp fixtures & desktop lighting applications).

"I purchased both the wide and narrow beam vita grow light bulbs and placed my plant within 24-36 inches of the light. Under the wide beam, my bottom leaves of my rubber ficus started to decline and dropped off. I switched it out for the narrow beam and the issue stopped. The light bulbs are heavy, look nice and seem to work well, but I would only use the wide beam vita grow light bulbs for close up light on one to two plants, maybe 18 inches or less. Narrow beam vita grow light bulb worked much better for me and I keep two to three plants, max at 24 inches from the bulb. I wish these bulbs/pendants/lamps were in a bit more affordable price range."
