Hanging Heights

Finding the right distance between your grow light and plant can make all the difference. This guide outlines the recommended hanging heights for the Aspect Gen 2 based on the light running at full brightness (100%) with no dimming applied.

As a general rule, the coverage area is approximately 1:1—meaning a 12–24" hanging height will provide about 1–2 square feet of coverage. As you raise the light, both the coverage area and light spread increase, while intensity decreases.

The built-in dimmer on the Gen 2 gives you added flexibility. If your plant is placed closer than the recommended height or shows signs of light stress (like burning or fading), simply dim the light to reduce intensity and protect your plant.

Installation

From box to brilliance - Here's everything you need to hang your light like a pro.

1. Install Swag Hook
  • Drill a 3/16in hole centered over your desire plant. Insert wall Anchor. Screw swag hook into anchor.
  • No anchors required for solid wood walls or direct to stud.
  • *BE CAUTIOUS of electrical or HVAC located behind walls. DO NOT use tape adhesives to hang.

3. Hang Aspect
  • Slide the wire into the notch of the swag hook. Hold the wire and light securely as you adjust to the proper height.
  • Guide the wire into the fairlead near the ceiling. Secure the wire with the fairlead cap.
  • Lightly pull down on the wire to straighten. Secure the wire into the fairlead near the floor with the cap.
  • Dial in the ideal brightness for your plants with the integrated dimmer
2. Install Fairleads
  • Install the 2 fairlead bases on the wall. One near the ceiling and one near the floor.
  • Drill a 3/16in hole. Insert wall Anchor. Screw swag hook into anchor.
  • The third fairlead is optional. It can be mounted anywhere for extra support.
  • *For a clean look - add the corner spacer. This allows you to run the wire down the corner of the room.

4. Timer Programming

  • Turn dial clockwise. Arrow points to current time. (Each interval = 30 min)
  • PIN UP = Light OFF - PIN DOWN = Light ON
  • *Example: If it’s 4:30 PM - set the time to 4:30 PM on the dial. Then push down pins showing light ON between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
  • Timer must be turned to “TIMER ON” Light will remain on at all times if set to “OUTLET ON”

Light Cycles

Light cycles simulate day and night for indoor plants. For most houseplants, light cycles are less critical. Generally, grow lights should be on for 12-16 hours a day for optimal growth.

Specific plants may need different cycles based on their native environment. Plants respond to light cycles in three ways: short-day, long-day, and day-neutral. Short-day and long-day plants switch from vegetative to flowering stages based on light and dark periods. Day-neutral plants flower when mature, regardless of light cycles. To encourage flowering or fruiting, adjust the light cycle to the plant's critical light period.
