Schefflera Care

Always water your plants, but make sure to let the top inch or two dry out before watering again. In winter, reduce how often you water your plants so that the soil can get up to 50% dry.
Schefflera Plants prefer bright, indirect light but will also tolerate medium light conditions.
Schefflera plants like humidity and can do well in average humidity levels, but they will really thrive during the summer or in hot, dry conditions. You can help keep their leaves looking nice by misting them occasionally to remove dust and by keeping the edges of their leaves from turning brown.
This plant can adapt to the average indoor temperature, but it may complain if it is exposed to cold drafts or dry heat from vents.
The Schefflera plant has leaves that are mildly poisonous to both pets and humans. Ingestion of these leaves will cause mouth and stomach irritation, as well as a possibility of vomiting.
If you have a leggy Schefflera, you can propagate it by taking a cutting from the top of the stem. Trim the stem back if needed, leaving a section with 3-4 leaves. Remove the lower leaves and then dip the cut stem in rooting hormone before rooting in water or another medium. Schefflera can be tricky to root, but if you wait until the roots are a few inches long you can pot it up!
